The Executive Chef position at Lahontan Golf Club represents a unique opportunity to lead culinary operations within a prestigious private club setting. The Executive Chef oversees all food production, including a la carte dining, banquets, and various other dining outlets, ensuring the highest standards of quality and creativity are maintained. This role involves menu development, creating food purchase specifications, and standardizing recipes to consistently deliver exceptional dishes. The chef will train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment while managing food and labor costs effectively to maintain financial sustainability.

The upcoming remodel of the Lahontan Lodge, featuring expanded kitchen space and state-of-the-art equipment, offers the next Executive Chef a platform to innovate and elevate the culinary program further. As the culinary ambassador of the club, the Executive Chef will engage with members, guests, and staff to understand and anticipate dining preferences, continuously enhancing the gastronomic experience in alignment with Lahontan’s refined yet approachable culture. This position demands a visionary leader capable of balancing creativity with operational excellence, playing a vital role in shaping memorable dining experiences and contributing to the overall success and evolution of the club.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in private club or luxury resort culinary operations
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • in-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • proven ability to manage budgets and control costs
  • availability to participate in club events and meetings

Job Qualifications

  • Prior private club or luxury multi-unit resort/hotel operations experience
  • demonstrated leadership in culinary program development
  • strong culinary fundamentals and knowledge of current trends
  • excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • financial management experience including budgeting and labor cost control
  • ability to engage with members and participate in club events
  • flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
