Job Description
ISS Guckenheimer is a leading provider of food service management, renowned for delivering high-quality culinary experiences across various corporate and educational campuses. As a part of the ISS Group, a global organization committed to resilience, inclusivity, and sustainability, ISS Guckenheimer operates with a clear mission to provide exceptional services that enrich the lives of its clients and employees. The company emphasizes diversity and inclusion in its workforce, ensuring a respectful and supportive environment for all, regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, or any other background. Working at ISS Guckenheimer means being part of a forward-thinking organization dedicated to excellence and innovation in food service operations.
The position of Executive Chef at ISS Guckenheimer’s campus food facilities entails comprehensive leadership and hands-on responsibilities for all kitchen activities and back-of-house operations. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards expected by ISS Guckenheimer and its clients, ensuring that every dining venue on campus delivers outstanding culinary quality and guest satisfaction. The Executive Chef supports multiple cafes across the campus, assisting the General Manager in meeting the financial targets of the business by implementing best practices, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to food preparation, safety, and sanitation.
With a salary range of $85,000 to $90,000 annually, the Executive Chef will oversee kitchen organization, cleanliness, food safety, and menu compliance consistently. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented leader who can manage kitchen staff, coordinate with procurement teams, and maintain accurate records for all culinary operations. The Executive Chef must ensure adherence to HACCP guidelines and internal audits, while also being responsible for corrective actions whenever standards are not met to uphold a safe and compliant work environment.
As an ideal candidate, you will bring a passion for customer service, a positive attitude, and dependable communication skills. Culinary education from an accredited institution and operational experience in a restaurant or corporate dining setting are strongly preferred. Certification or ability to become SERV Safe certified is also critical for success in this role.
Key responsibilities entail the use of NetMenu software for menu planning, inventory management, and recipe control. The Executive Chef is integral to menu development featuring seasonal, regionally inspired, and plant-forward dishes with an emphasis on quality and presentation for all meal periods and special events. Collaboration with the General Manager and cafe leads ensures menus align with client requirements and budget constraints while maintaining high standards.
Training and development of kitchen staff form a significant portion of the role, including culinary instruction, personal development planning, and performance reviews. Additionally, the Executive Chef manages all catering events, ensuring operational standards and client expectations are met flawlessly.
The role demands physical stamina capable of handling up to 25 pounds, working efficiently under time constraints, and maintaining composure during peak service periods. HSEQ policies are strictly observed, reflecting the company’s commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality in all aspects of the workplace.
Employment with ISS Guckenheimer comes with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, and a robust leave program. Joining the ISS Guckenheimer team means becoming part of a company that values leadership, diversity, and excellence while offering a dynamic and rewarding career path in culinary management.
