Luxury Senior Living Communities operates premier independent, assisted living, and memory care communities located in Coral Gables, Kendall, and Homestead. These communities are designed to provide residents with an upscale lifestyle combining comfort, care, and exceptional culinary experiences. One of their newest establishments is The Palace at Weston, located at 16025 Emerald Street, Weston, FL, a modern and elegant community dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through top-notch amenities and services. The role of Executive Chef at The Palace at Weston is pivotal in maintaining the community's reputation for high-quality dining. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all food service operations, including menu planning, food purchasing, production coordination, and meal service. This position demands leadership, creativity, and a passion for delivering an upscale culinary experience to residents, employees, and guests during large events. Working closely with the entertainment and activities directors, the Executive Chef plays a key role in designing and executing themed monthly events that enrich the residents' lifestyle.

The ideal candidate should possess at least five years of experience in high-volume cooking environments such as resorts, hotels, or fine dining establishments, ensuring they can handle complex production schedules and cater to specialized diets. A Culinary School certification is preferred, with knowledge of various regional cooking styles being highly advantageous. Strong communication skills in English are required, with Spanish proficiency considered a plus.

The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergencies, is essential. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of high volume cooking experience in a resort, hotel or fine dining environment
  • Culinary school certification preferred
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Demonstrate good verbal communications and interpersonal skills in English
  • Flexible as to work schedule and available to work on weekends, holidays and emergencies
  • Polite, responsible, accurate and detail-oriented
  • Able to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as a team member

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • To plan, direct, supervise & execute all the food services of the community
  • Plan menus, purchasing, production coordination and service to residents, employees & large events
  • Prepare food items according to daily production schedule utilizing standardized recipes & specialized diets
  • Assign and coordinate work for kitchen personnel
  • Coordinate food handling, cooking schedules & cooking methods to assure an upscale culinary experience
  • Ensure proper service of meals to conserve nutritional value, flavor, appearance & quality
  • Supervise the cooks, prep cooks & dishwasher staff
  • Work closely with entertainment and activities directors to design & execute monthly events
