Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary Arts degree preferred
- Minimum five years kitchen experience
- Minimum two years management experience
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to manage budgets and inventory
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Culinary Arts degree from recognized school
- Two years experience as Executive Chef or Assistant Executive Chef in comparable food service operation
- Five years experience in kitchen work in medium to large organizations
- Experience in hiring, training, and managing food service personnel
- Knowledge of special diets and meal preparation for large groups
- Experience with menu design, food preparation, and artistic food presentation
- Ability to operate computer equipment for data entry and retrieval
- Current ServSafe certification
Job Duties
- Plan, test and assess cost of new menus and menu items
- Clean and supervise cleaning of work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain sanitation standards according to Department of Health
- Lead food preparation and cooking staff
- Participate in hiring, training, and disciplining of kitchen personnel
- Schedule and manage staff shifts and requests
- Manage food purchasing and inventory
- Monitor financial performance and adjust activities accordingly
