Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum five years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- Supervisory experience with the ability to lead and develop staff
- Food handler’s permit and HACCP certification where applicable
- Strong communication skills in English
- Adherence to company appearance and dress code policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Valid driver’s license and driving capabilities
- Ability to work full-time hours and act as manager on duty as needed
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Culinary Arts degree and/or chef certification strongly preferred
- Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, with residents, staff, and vendors
- Minimum five years of culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- Proven leadership experience in supervising staff and teamwork
- Valid food handler's permit as required by law or company standards, HACCP certification may be required
- Adherence to company appearance and dress code policies
- Strong organizational, detail orientation, and time management skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company or personal vehicles if required
Job Duties
- Interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and performance managing kitchen staff including scheduling hours and breaks
- Maintaining monthly and annual departmental budgets with documentation of spending on food, supplies, and labor
- Managing inventory of kitchen supplies, small wares, and tableware
- Ensuring purchasing standards are met and maintaining vendor relationships
- Overseeing food preparation, storage, and service to meet company and legal standards
- Meeting regularly with residents and families to ensure high satisfaction levels
- Working with staff to deliver exceptional customer service
- Coordinating front of house and back of house staff to exceed food quality expectations
- Collaborating with community leadership to maintain customer satisfaction and health survey scores
- Maintaining accurate documentation and timely submission of reports and invoices
- Promoting employee satisfaction and engagement
- Delegating kitchen and dining area cleanliness and quality tasks
- Conducting department meetings and training sessions
- Ensuring proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Assisting in planning and execution of community events and special meals
- Supporting community marketing efforts with sales team
- Enforcing company expectations for kitchen and restaurant staff
- Acting as manager on duty when required
- Performing other duties as assigned
