Job Requirements

  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree or diploma
  • Associate's degree in culinary arts or relevant education/experience
  • Chef certification or formal culinary training
  • SS-Serve Save certification
  • Certified Dietary Manager credential
  • Five years recent relevant experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff
  • Ability to instruct in culinary activities
  • Customer service skills
  • Marketing and promotion skills
  • Knowledge of food production and delivery processes
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, CBORD Food Service Suite and Micros
  • Knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment
  • Ability to interpret data and instructions
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of HACCP guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts or equivalent education/experience
  • Chef certification or formal culinary training
  • SS-Serve Save certification
  • Certified Dietary Manager credential
  • Five years of recent relevant experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of food production and delivery processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and food service software including CBORD Food Service Suite and Micros
  • Knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment and HACCP guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Provide overall management and direction to food production and food storage operations
  • Provide leadership and managerial support in planning, organizing, staffing and controlling day-to-day operational functions related to food production
  • Participate with other supervisors and managers in planning and standardizing programmatic, operational changes and cost saving initiatives
  • Hire, schedule and evaluate staff under direct supervision
  • Perform sanitation, safety, quality and security checks to ensure compliance with department standards, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and supervise all food service areas in the absence of higher management
  • Collaborate with other managers and supervisors in planning special functions and menus for cafeterias, catering and patient meal service
