Job Requirements

  • High school degree in general studies
  • Minimum of two to three years of management experience
  • Acute or long-term care foodservice experience preferred
  • Culinary degree or formal training preferred
  • Hands-on chef experience required
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and internet
  • Ability to participate in patient satisfaction programs
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting, standing, walking and stooping
  • Leadership capability to manage direct and indirect reports

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree in general studies
  • Minimum of two to three years of management experience
  • Culinary degree or menu writing and recipe writing experience preferred
  • Experience in acute or long-term care foodservice preferred
  • Hands-on chef experience required
  • Experience with high volume and complex foodservice operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

Job Duties

  • Oversee kitchen operations while maintaining safe and sanitary work environment
  • Prepare or direct meal preparations according to corporate programs and guidelines
  • Plan regular and modified menus following established standards
  • Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation guidelines
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, and equipment operation
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Manage inventory and utilization of food and non-food supplies
  • Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations
  • Participate in patient satisfaction programs and staff development activities
  • Lead departmental meetings and promote team engagement and safety culture
