Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years of culinary management experience
- Ability to manage kitchen staff including hiring, training, and development
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Capability to plan menus and control food and labor costs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Physical ability to handle kitchen duties including manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Availability to work long hours in varying temperature conditions
Job Qualifications
- Five to ten years of experience in a related culinary management position
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- Experience managing people and complex food and beverage operations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage budgets and operational costs
- Proven leadership skills in employee development and team motivation
Job Duties
- Manage the kitchen team to attract, retain and motivate employees while providing a safe environment
- Hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel kitchen staff
- Conduct performance and salary reviews
- Resolve problems and provide open communication and discipline when appropriate
- Plan and manage procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food in a safe, sanitary, and cost-effective manner
- Monitor and control maintenance and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and related areas to meet federal, state, corporate, and franchise standards
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the department budget while analyzing, forecasting, monitoring, and controlling labor and food costs
- Develop and implement menus and backup plans within corporate guidelines to improve revenue and profit margins
- Execute and promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities
