Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work full time at Marriott Long Beach Downtown, California

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years experience in culinary or related area
  • Or 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 4 years experience
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements
  • Experience in budgeting and cost control
  • Culinary expertise and menu development skills

Job Duties

  • Lead kitchen management team
  • Provide direction for all day-to-day kitchen operations
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation
  • Develop and implement purchasing and receiving guidelines and controls
  • Establish performance, budget, and team goals
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Manage employee training, coaching, and performance evaluations
