Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
- certification as a dietetic manager or equivalent preferred
- 2 to 5 years of executive chef or supervisory kitchen experience
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to complete company certification program within specified time
- understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations
- strong leadership and team development skills
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Food Science, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Hotel/Restaurant/Hospitality Management preferred
- Certified Dietetic Manager Program or state/degree equivalent preferred
- minimum 2 to 5 years of related experience at Executive Chef, Chef Supervisor, or equivalent level
- proven success in fast-paced environments
- completion of Five Star executive chef certification program within 12 months of employment required
Job Duties
- Plan menus for daily food service operations
- develop culinary team members through coaching, training and mentoring
- maintain compliance standards for meal service, food quality and task performance
- perform daily audits of safety, sanitation, food quality, meal delivery at point of service, and quality standards to optimize financial and operational productivity
- oversee managers in a diverse environment and establish and maintain effective client and resident relations
- establish good rapport and professional relationships with all vendors, clients, and health officials
- maintain courteous and effective working relationships with all departments including team members and representatives of the kitchen/back of house
