Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in food services, facilities management, and workplace experience, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and communities worldwide. With a strong presence in education, corporate services, healthcare, and government sectors, Sodexo is committed to delivering innovative, customized solutions that meet the unique needs of each client. At Sodexo, diversity and inclusion are core values, fostering an environment where employees are respected, valued, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. The company emphasizes fair treatment, equal opportunity, and a supportive culture that encourages personal and professional growth.

The role of Executive Chef at Sodexo supporting the Middletown City School District in Middletown, OH, is a critical position that combines culinary expertise with leadership in a high-volume K-12 educational environment. This full-time position invites an experienced culinary professional to lead daily breakfast and lunch programs, oversee catering services and special events, and contribute to innovative initiatives such as mobile food trucks and summer feeding programs that enhance student nutrition and wellness. The focus is on maintaining exceptional food quality, adhering to rigorous menu execution standards, and presenting meals that appeal to young students while meeting federal guidelines for school nutrition.

Middletown City Schools is a progressive district participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), allowing it to serve free breakfast and lunch to all students, resulting in high participation rates and a meaningful impact on student health. The Executive Chef will play an essential role in advancing this mission by managing operations that promote food safety, sanitation, creative menu development, and team training. Additionally, the position includes supporting marketing efforts and educational programs like "Chef in the Classroom," which engage students with food and nutrition education.

Sodexo offers a competitive and equitable compensation package that considers education, experience, and skills, alongside a robust benefits program. Employees benefit from medical, dental, and vision care, wellness initiatives, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and tuition reimbursement opportunities. The company values continuous learning and career advancement, fostering a supportive environment where the Executive Chef can thrive professionally while making a tangible difference in the community.

This role demands a proactive, multitasking professional with proven culinary leadership and high-volume production experience, particularly within K-12 settings. ServSafe certification is required to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Knowledge of National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines is preferred to align with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent cooking skills, food presentation, and the ability to inspire and develop a culinary team committed to excellence and innovation.

Joining Sodexo as an Executive Chef means becoming part of a mission-driven team focused on creating better everyday experiences for students and contributing positively to community health and education. Sodexo's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity creates a welcoming workplace where every employee can succeed and feel valued. This is an exciting opportunity to lead culinary operations in a vibrant school district and support impactful programs that enhance student well-being and learning environments.
