Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Some prior experience in housekeeping or custodial services
- Ability to perform repetitive physical labor
- Ability to work on-call with variable hours
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
- Ability to maintain hygiene and infection control standards
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Qualifications
- Some knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and methods
- Some experience in custodial work
- Ability to operate a vacuum
- Ability to work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable items
- Ability to maintain constant contact with residents
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to follow simple instructions
- Ability to work cooperatively in close quarters with others
Job Duties
- Sweep and mop resident rooms, halls, stairways, elevators, and other assigned areas
- Clean and scour toilets, tubs, and showers in patient tub rooms and public bathrooms, supplying paper and hand soap as needed
- Clean lounge furniture, nursing stations, medicine and treatment rooms, tub and shower rooms, clinic area, and other ancillary and activity spaces
- Maintain facility sanitation and infection control by cleaning equipment and furnishings
- Sort soiled linen, fold clean linens, and process resident laundry
- Clean up human waste and other body fluids responsibly
- Dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials properly
