As a cornerstone of hospital operations, our environmental services team ensures that every area meets infection control standards and contributes to the overall positive experience of our patients and visitors.
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Environmental Services Technician to join our team. This role is critical in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the hospital environment by cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas using approved procedures and cleaning solutions. The position requires attention to detail and adherence to hospital handwashing policies, infection control protocols, and safety regulations. Responsibilities include the thorough cleaning of patient rooms upon discharge to prepare for new patients, handling hazardous and medical waste according to infection control procedures, restocking supplies, and operating cleaning equipment correctly.
In this role, the technician will also contribute to ensuring customer satisfaction by engaging courteously with patients, families, and staff. They will demonstrate professionalism, positive interpersonal skills, and the ability to resolve conflicts constructively. The technician must maintain confidentiality in handling patient and departmental information and follow appropriate chains of command for resolving grievances or complaints.
The Environmental Services Technician will prepare cleaning and germicidal solutions, move furniture and equipment as necessary, and arrange spaces for meetings or events. They will also report any needed repairs or safety hazards promptly to supervisors and maintain attendance and punctuality according to hospital policies.
This full-time position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for basic computer skills. Physical demands include walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 35 pounds, with provisions for assistance on heavier lifts. The role offers opportunities for professional growth through mandatory training, continuing education, and participation in departmental meetings and goals. Our facility fosters a supportive workplace environment committed to both employee development and exceptional patient care.
