Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to follow and understand verbal communications and written procedures
- Ability to verbally communicate with others
- Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
- Physical ability to lift 20 lbs occasionally and 10-20 lbs frequently
- Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, push, and pull
- Manual dexterity and ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, feel, talk, hear, and see
- Exposure to human body fluids, disease, infection, lab chemicals and hazardous materials
- Ability to wear protective or safety equipment
- Physical presence onsite is essential
- Hearing and vision normal or corrected to normal range

Job Duties
- Clean assigned areas daily following 8 step cleaning procedure
- Clean occupied and discharged patient rooms
- Wash walls, doors, ceilings, furnishings, and windows
- Refine and burnish floors if required
- Dust, damp mop, vacuum floor areas
- Spot-clean carpets
- Collect waste and clean waste receptacles
- Clean compactor area
- Collect and distribute linen
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment orderly
- Request and return cleaning supplies
- Clean carts and equipment
- Operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment
- Report broken furniture or equipment immediately
- Maintain secured access to medication storage areas
- Alert supervisors if medications are found unsecured
- Provide training for new hires and others
- Adhere to DCH performance, patient, and financial standards
- Follow compliance requirements and behavioral standards
- Ensure patient, visitor, and employee safety
- Identify and reduce unsafe practices
- Use electronic mail, time and attendance software, and learning management systems
- Adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures
- Perform all other assigned duties
