Job Description

The Environmental Services (EVS) Manager role within the Housekeeping Department at Osborn Medical Center is a full-time position, operating from 7am to 4pm. This leadership role is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports the hospital's mission and vision. As an EVS Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and management oversight to continuously improve the standard EVS operating model within the facility. Your responsibilities include ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness and aesthetics for patients, visitors, and staff, while promoting safety and service excellence. This position requires a dedicated leader capable of managing day-to-day operations, staffing, training, and quality improvement initiatives within the environmental services department.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four years' relevant work experience
  • Minimum three years of leadership experience in hospital EVS service operations management
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate computer and database systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to perform on-call emergency services
  • Commitment to uphold hospital mission and values

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Three years of leadership experience in hospital EVS operations management
  • Proficiency in computer operation and database systems preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Experience coordinating teams and managing vendor relationships

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and oversight for EVS operations to ensure high cleanliness standards
  • Keep Director informed on program efficiencies and challenges
  • Attract, develop, and train staff to maintain program quality and growth
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, patient safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Schedule and manage staff, including cross-training and attendance tracking
  • Manage departmental budgets, supplies, and resources
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors
  • Monitor and ensure proper handling of regulated medical waste
  • Conduct daily rounds for environmental cleanliness and customer satisfaction
  • Promote a culture of safety, hygiene, and employee engagement
  • Conduct quality improvement initiatives including training, auditing, and inspections
  • Supervise emergency on-call services when needed
  • Utilize computer programs for reporting and communication
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in EVS and regulatory compliance
