Job Requirements

  • One year of experience in environmental services in ambulatory and acute care support departments
  • physical ability to perform job duties
  • ability to pass PPD (TB test)
  • blood draw to check antibodies for measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis B
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • flu shot required

Job Qualifications

  • One year of experience in environmental services in ambulatory and acute care support departments
  • preferred one year of supervisory level experience managing staff
  • bilingual skills in Spanish and English preferred
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, and EVS software systems preferred
  • experience with EVS equipment and machinery

Job Duties

  • Supervises resources needed for the Environmental Services department and recommends hiring
  • supervises a waste program ensuring compliance with regulations
  • performs quality improvement initiatives and conducts rounding activities to ensure environmental hygiene
  • demonstrates knowledge of cleaning, disinfection, chemical, and equipment usage
  • oversees inventories, usage data, and ordering of supplies and equipment repairs
  • prepares work and time schedules coordinating vacation and holiday time
  • provides on-site training and on-the-job training for new EVS associates
  • performs floor care and maintenance including hard surfaces and carpeting
  • cleans and disinfects various patient and common areas as assigned
  • supervises subcontractors and EVS suppliers
  • adheres to safety, risk management, infection control, and prevention standards
  • coaches team members on infection control principles
  • responds to emergencies and staffing changes
  • conducts inspections and competency evaluations
  • controls expenditures within budget and takes corrective action when needed
