Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of healthcare environmental services experience
  • Ability to distinguish between levels of disinfection and perform required procedures
  • Ability to read and write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred
  • Physical ability to perform job duties
  • Successful completion of PPD (TB test)
  • Blood draw and antibody screening for measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis B
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Flu shot required

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-year healthcare environmental services experience
  • Knowledge of low and intermediate-level disinfection
  • Ability to explain and perform disinfection procedures
  • Ability to read and write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Respectful listening and collaboration skills

Job Duties

  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of specialty units and equipment
  • Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles
  • Adheres to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control standards
  • Maintains all appropriate logs and checklists
  • Demonstrates understanding of training and education related to evidence-based recommendations
  • Maintains supplies and equipment by properly stocking environmental services cart
  • Removes waste and transports it to appropriate disposal areas following proper waste streams
  • Follows all environmental and infection prevention practices including hand hygiene and PPE use
  • Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements
  • Assists in onboarding new Environmental Services Technicians as requested
