Job Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year of healthcare environmental services experience
Ability to distinguish between levels of disinfection and perform required procedures
Ability to read and write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred
Physical ability to perform job duties
Successful completion of PPD (TB test)
Blood draw and antibody screening for measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis B
COVID vaccination required
Flu shot required

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1-year healthcare environmental services experience
Knowledge of low and intermediate-level disinfection
Ability to explain and perform disinfection procedures
Ability to read and write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
Respectful listening and collaboration skills

Job Duties

Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of specialty units and equipment
Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles
Adheres to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control standards
Maintains all appropriate logs and checklists
Demonstrates understanding of training and education related to evidence-based recommendations
Maintains supplies and equipment by properly stocking environmental services cart
Removes waste and transports it to appropriate disposal areas following proper waste streams
Follows all environmental and infection prevention practices including hand hygiene and PPE use
Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements
Assists in onboarding new Environmental Services Technicians as requested
