Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of healthcare environmental services experience
- Ability to distinguish between levels of disinfection and perform required procedures
- Ability to read and write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred
- Physical ability to perform job duties
- Successful completion of PPD (TB test)
- Blood draw and antibody screening for measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis B
- COVID vaccination required
- Flu shot required
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-year healthcare environmental services experience
- Knowledge of low and intermediate-level disinfection
- Ability to explain and perform disinfection procedures
- Ability to read and write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Respectful listening and collaboration skills
Job Duties
- Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of specialty units and equipment
- Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles
- Adheres to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control standards
- Maintains all appropriate logs and checklists
- Demonstrates understanding of training and education related to evidence-based recommendations
- Maintains supplies and equipment by properly stocking environmental services cart
- Removes waste and transports it to appropriate disposal areas following proper waste streams
- Follows all environmental and infection prevention practices including hand hygiene and PPE use
- Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements
- Assists in onboarding new Environmental Services Technicians as requested
