Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must obtain Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician certification once eligible
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, and perform other required movements
- Ability to work scheduled days including weekends and holidays
- Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning and infection control standards
- Compliance with safety and confidentiality policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting protocols
- Ability to wear PPE and follow infection prevention practices
- Familiarity with cleaning standards from AHE, APIC, AORN, CDC, and The Joint Commission
- Experience working in healthcare or similar environments preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Certification as CHEST or CSCT preferred
Job Duties
- Coordinate daily operations and staffing of Environmental Services department
- Clean and disinfect specialty units including Surgical Services, Labor Delivery, Critical Care, Endoscopy, MRI, Trauma, Cath Lab, NICU, and Mental Health
- Maintain logs and checklists accurately and up to date
- Stock and restock environmental services carts and supplies
- Remove waste and ensure proper disposal according to waste streams
- Adhere to organizational safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives
