The Environmental Services Technician position at Bozeman Health’s Big Sky Medical Center plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of the healthcare environment. This role is essential to support the overall mission of providing a clean and safe space for patients, staff, and visitors. The technician is responsible for performing general cleaning duties including sanitizing patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to help reduce the risk of infections and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. The Environmental Services Technician uses specialized knowledge in cleaning processes and materials to manage waste disposal, restock supplies, and ensure that all linens are properly handled and laundered.

This position requires individuals who are detail-oriented, dependable, and demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and professionalism at all times. Working in a busy healthcare setting, the technician will collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to maintain a hygienic environment that supports patient care and organizational efficiency. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience as an environmental services worker
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
  • Physical ability to lift repeatedly up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods
  • Capacity to perform repetitive movements such as twist, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach above shoulder level
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

Job Qualifications

  • One year of experience as an environmental services worker
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn current and new computer applications and office equipment
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times
  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

Job Duties

  • Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned area
  • Use cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and showers as assigned
  • Restock products as needed
  • Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes
  • Remove and deliver linens as needed
  • Load washers and dryers and fold linen as needed
  • Clean linen room as needed
  • Place and neatly tuck clean sheets and blankets on beds and replace pillowcases as assigned
  • Pick up and empty trash containers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
