This position is for a Per Diem Environmental Services Technician at Sutter Solano Medical Center. As an essential member of the environmental services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, attractive, and safe environment within the medical center’s assigned areas. This role involves performing a diverse range of cleaning duties including patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other facility spaces to ensure patient safety and comfort through strict adherence to sanitization standards and hospital policies. The Environmental Services Technician will be skilled in handling various cleaning equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers. The technician ensures effective room setups, manages trash and linen removal promptly, and distributes supplies to different departments efficiently while maintaining proper stock levels. Communication skills are essential to build cooperative relationships with peers, supervisors, patients, and healthcare staff, enabling a team-oriented atmosphere focused on operational excellence. The position demands the ability to prioritize tasks within standardized policies, interpret written and verbal instructions accurately, and work independently as well as collaboratively to meet the healthcare facility's high standards.
This role offers a variable schedule with short hour shifts approximately 8 hours in length, including every other weekend, catering to flexible availability demands inherent in healthcare operations. The position is categorized under non-exempt, per diem/casual employee status with an hourly pay range between $29.62 and $33.75. Candidates can expect an inclusive work environment under union representation, where adherence to all local, state, and federal safety and sanitation regulations is mandatory. Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, disability, or veteran status. While comprehensive benefits are reportedly available for eligible positions within Sutter Health, this particular per diem role does not list specific benefits. However, the organization's reputation for employee support suggests access to further professional development opportunities within the broader health system.
