The Environmental Services team at YNHHS plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment throughout the healthcare facilities. Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Environmental Services employee performs a variety of responsibilities designed to ensure that all department standards for cleanliness are met and that every area within the facility is sanitary and ready for patient care. This role involves the proper use of equipment and cleaning supplies, strict adherence to hospital protocols for safety and contamination prevention, and support of bed management processes that facilitate efficient room turnaround. This is a vital position that requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the physical ability to handle demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Individuals in this role are responsible for a wide range of housekeeping tasks including cleaning furniture, windows, vents, and bathrooms, managing trash and recycling removal, and handling medical waste according to stringent regulatory requirements. They must ensure that all cleaning materials are used safely and that any discrepancies or maintenance issues are promptly reported.
