Job Description

Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare organizations in the United States, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, advancing innovative medical treatments, and supporting the well-being of communities through integrated and compassionate services. Founded on the principles of integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion, YNHHS strives to create an environment where all employees share a common vision and mission that guide daily responsibilities and professional conduct. The system encompasses a network of hospitals, outpatient facilities, and specialized health programs that collectively work toward improving patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for those served. Employees at YNHHS are expected to align with these core values and contribute meaningfully to a culture that prioritizes patient safety and excellence in healthcare delivery.

The Environmental Services team at YNHHS plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment throughout the healthcare facilities. Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Environmental Services employee performs a variety of responsibilities designed to ensure that all department standards for cleanliness are met and that every area within the facility is sanitary and ready for patient care. They must ensure that all cleaning materials are used safely and that any discrepancies or maintenance issues are promptly reported. The position demands a commitment to health and safety standards, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a dedicated patient care team. Successful candidates will have demonstrated customer service experience, the ability to read, write, and perform basic math, and the physical stamina to meet the physical demands of the job. This opportunity at YNHHS offers a meaningful career path within a respected healthcare environment, where employees play an essential role in supporting patient care through operational excellence.
