The role of Environmental Services Worker at Kindred Hospital Rancho is integral to maintaining the hospital’s cleanliness, safety, and sanitary conditions. This position involves cleaning and servicing designated areas of the hospital, which includes moving furniture, equipment, and supplies to support different hospital functions and events. The Environmental Services Worker will prepare cleaning solutions and use germicidal agents to ensure all surfaces, from patient rooms to public areas, are free from harmful bacteria and visibly clean. Responsibilities also involve sweeping, mopping, spot-cleaning carpets, and maintaining restrooms and vanity areas to promote a hygienic environment. The role includes waste management tasks such as collecting and removing trash, sanitizing garbage cans, and handling hazardous waste according to strict safety protocols.

Job Duties
- Selects cleaning materials/supplies and prepares cleaning solutions
- loads service cart and transports to work area
- cleans assigned area including walls, doors, tile, fixtures, patient TVs and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions
- sweeps, mops floors and vacuums carpet
- spot cleans carpet using appropriate solutions
- cleans restrooms, vanity areas, showers and commodes maintaining sanitary and odor free conditions
- replenishes essentials
- collects and removes trash, sanitizes all garbage cans and compactor area
- may collect and transport hazardous waste in a special closed container for sterilization before disposal
- may collect soiled linen and distribute clean linen
- arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
- returns unused supplies to janitor closet ensuring all supplies are replaced in an orderly manner
