Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
healthcare experience preferred
ability to pull, push, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
knowledge of powered floor equipment
must adhere to safety and infection control protocols
ability to work flexible hours and adjust to schedule changes
good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

knowledge of powered floor equipment such as buffing machines
ability to demonstrate current competencies related to cleaning and maintenance
familiarity with infection control procedures
good public relations skills
ability to use cleaning chemicals safely

Job Duties

Works under the general direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor and accepts assignments and changes in schedule as necessary
assembles required cleaning equipment and supplies and prepares cleaning solutions
operates power-buffing equipment and performs all aspects of floor care including refinishing hard-surface flooring and shampooing carpeting
cleans walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, lighting fixtures, lavatories, plumbing fixtures, patient areas and performs terminal isolation cleaning
adheres to departmental quality standards and infection control procedures
maintains proper supply levels and reports unsafe conditions to supervision
moves furniture and sets up meeting rooms as required
follows prescribed safety practices when handling chemicals, waste or infectious materials
performs duties with minimum interruption to patients and staff while maintaining courteous and timely communication
