The city's government is committed to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through various programs and initiatives, including the thriving Arts and Culture Department. This department plays a pivotal role in promoting cultural activities, community engagement, and public events that reflect the diverse spirit of Albuquerque.
The Community Events Division under the Arts and Culture Department is renowned for orchestrating some of Albuquerque's most iconic celebrations. Events like Albuquerque's Birthday Celebration, the ABQ Summerfest Series, Freedom 4th, and the Old Town Holiday Stroll are more than just festivities; they are occasions that bring the community together, celebrate the city's heritage, and showcase local talents and businesses. These events require meticulous planning, coordination, and management to ensure their success and continued popularity.
The City of Albuquerque is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join its team as an Event Planning Supervisor within the Community Events Division. This is a full-time position located in Albuquerque, NM, offering an annual salary range of $49,296 to $51,771. The role involves overseeing and participating in the coordination of entertainment and logistics for a variety of city events, including venue rentals. The Event Planning Supervisor will lead and guide a team responsible for the execution of these events, ensuring high standards of customer service and adherence to established policies.
This position requires a seasoned professional who can handle technical and complex responsibilities related to event planning and entertainment coordination. The supervisor will be instrumental in managing staff assignments, reviewing work quality, and ensuring seamless event operations. A successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure during short lead times, and a passion for community engagement and cultural celebration.
Working in this role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the cultural fabric of Albuquerque by delivering memorable and well-executed events that resonate with residents and visitors alike. The City values its employees and offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, alongside paid holidays, parental leave, vacation, and sick leave from day one. Employees also benefit from retirement contributions that are among the highest in the state, professional development opportunities, and wellness resources.
Join the City of Albuquerque and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to making a positive impact through the power of community events. If you are bilingual in English and Spanish, possess event planning experience, and have supervisory capabilities, this role invites you to bring your talents to a job where your work makes a difference every day.
