The Banquet Coordinator/Host(ess) role at Sheraton is a pivotal position within the events and hospitality team, responsible for ensuring that guests receive exceptional service during functions and events. In this role, you will collaborate closely with group coordinators to confirm arrangements and guarantee that every detail aligns with guest expectations. This position requires thorough understanding and analysis of banquet event orders to gather necessary guest information, determine proper set up, and manage timelines effectively.
You will be entrusted with responding to special banquet event requests and making sure all arrangements comply with company standards and safety policies. The Banquet Coordinator/Host(ess) is deeply involved in ensuring quality standards are met through vigilance in physical inspections of tools, equipment, and event setups to identify any defects or concerns. This role involves physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting light objects, and navigating various physical environments safely. Flexibility and a willingness to perform additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors are important traits for success in this position.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience
- Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned

Job Duties
- Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to functions to make introductions and ensure arrangements are agreeable
- Read and analyze banquet event orders to gather guest information and determine proper set up and timelines
- Respond to and fulfill special banquet event arrangements and follow up to ensure compliance
- Follow all company safety and security policies and report accidents or unsafe conditions
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional while maintaining confidentiality
- Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address their service needs with genuine appreciation
- Inspect tools, equipment, and event setups for defects or issues and perform physical tasks as required during shifts
