Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven leadership experience in event setup or related hospitality role
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting moderate weight
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • basic computer literacy
  • adherence to Hyatt policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills to read and write emails
  • ability to read and understand room diagrams
  • physical capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects and operate heavy equipment
  • positive attitude with willingness to exceed guest expectations
  • prior hospitality experience in mid to large scale operations preferred
  • fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead the banquet event setup team and provide day to day instructions and assignments
  • monitor team performance and recommend corrective action
  • inspect and maintain event setups for cleanliness and accuracy
  • set up and break down tables, chairs, platforms, stages, skirting, and table tops as per group requirements
  • perform room refreshes during breaks including replenishing supplies and water pitchers
  • report any issues or damages to the Director of Banquets and Banquet Manager
  • ensure clean linens and skirting are stocked in storage
  • follow all rules and regulations of the Banquets Department and Hyatt employee handbook
