We are currently seeking a Houseperson to join our Events/Banquets department. This role is fundamental to ensuring the seamless setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event spaces according to Hyatt standards and specific event requirements. A Houseperson at Hyatt Regency Tamaya plays an essential part in delivering high-quality service during conferences, weddings, meetings, and special events, helping to create memorable moments for guests from around the world.
The Houseperson is responsible for arranging event spaces, including setting up tables, chairs, staging, linens, and other related materials, as specified in Event Orders. This position requires a keen eye for detail, physical stamina, and effective teamwork to meet tight deadlines and adapt to last-minute requests. Additionally, the Houseperson must ensure that all furniture and equipment are safely handled, properly stored, and maintained in good condition throughout the event. This proactive role supports a smooth transition between events, ensuring quick turnarounds and a professional appearance at all times.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hospitality or event setup preferred
- Ability to read and follow event orders and diagrams
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift moderate weight
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable and punctual with a professional demeanor

Job Duties
- Set up event rooms according to event orders including tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, podiums, and decor items
- Break down and reset rooms efficiently after events ensuring quick turnaround for next function
- Arrange linens, skirting, and table settings as required
- Respond to last-minute event changes or requests with a positive, can-do attitude
- Provide friendly, professional service to guests and event planners
- Safely move, lift, and transport event furniture and equipment
- Ensure equipment is stored properly and kept in good working condition
