Job Description
This opportunity is with a forward-thinking company based in San Francisco, CA, specializing in executing high-impact recruiting events and intern program experiences. The company places a strong emphasis on hybrid work arrangements, offering a mix of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility to support its dynamic operations. The role is a contract position lasting for 4 months, with a pay rate of $55 to $58 per hour on a W2 basis. Candidates must be able to work from the San Francisco office three days per week and show flexibility for event-day schedules.
As a Program Manager - Marketing Events I, you will play a crucial role in managing a comprehensive portfolio of recruiting events and intern program activities that demand precision and operational excellence. You will partner closely with the Global Strategic Event Manager to take ownership of the logistical components of numerous large-scale events, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution and seamless coordination. This hands-on role requires a detail-oriented professional skilled in timeline management, vendor coordination, and budget tracking to guarantee flawless event delivery.
A key responsibility will be the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) designed to scale event workflows efficiently across various regions. By documenting repeatable processes and building operational playbooks, you will enable the event program to expand without sacrificing quality or consistency. Your expertise in event technology platforms will be vital for handling registration, troubleshooting issues, and managing attendee data effectively. Familiarity with platforms like Splash or Cvent will be advantageous in this role.
Additionally, managing relationships with vendors—including venues, caterers, and audiovisual production teams—will fall under your remit. You will serve as the primary point of contact, coordinating deliverables, reviewing proposals, and ensuring that all on-site activities meet established standards. Your organizational abilities will extend beyond execution logistics, encompassing budget reconciliation and post-event analytics. By compiling attendee feedback and evaluating event success, you will provide data-informed recommendations to optimize future programs.
Ideal candidates will bring 3 to 5 years of event coordination or project management experience, particularly with portfolios that are logistics-heavy and high-volume. Prior experience in recruiting or university recruiting event planning is highly desirable. You should demonstrate a proven track record of converting complex event workflows into documented SOPs and operational checklists. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role requires proactive collaboration with multiple internal teams and external partners. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle shifting priorities with flexibility will be critical.
Working in a hybrid setting, your presence in the San Francisco office for three days a week will enable you to manage onsite logistics effectively and foster strong team connections. This position offers a unique blend of strategic and executional responsibilities, ideal for professionals passionate about event planning, process improvement, and delivering exceptional experiences to early career recruiting audiences.
