Job Description

CentraCare Foundation is a philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting the CentraCare Health system, which serves communities in Central Minnesota and the surrounding regions. The Foundation focuses on raising funds that enhance healthcare services and programs, improve patient experiences, and promote health and wellness throughout the community. As a part of CentraCare, the Foundation plays a crucial role in fostering relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders to further its mission of providing exceptional care and support to those in need.

The Events Manager for the CentraCare Foundation will play an integral role in advancing this mission through the strategic planning and execution of fundraising and stewardship events. This full-time position operates on an 80-hour biweekly schedule, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., within a hybrid work environment that combines on-site presence three days per week with two days remote. The salary starts at $54,546.69 per year and can increase up to $81,776.22 based on experience. Along with a competitive salary, the position offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, 401(k) retirement plan with match, long-term and short-term disability coverage, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts.

The primary responsibility of the Events Manager is to lead the Foundation’s efforts in hosting impactful fundraising and stewardship events that not only enhance CentraCare’s image but also generate critical funds to support community health initiatives. The role is dynamic and requires creativity, exceptional organizational skills, and a visionary approach to event management. The incumbent will oversee the full event lifecycle including researching and securing venues, planning and managing the Foundation’s events calendar, coordinating volunteer committees, negotiating vendor contracts, marketing events, and ensuring budgets and timelines are met.

A significant part of the role involves managing the Foundation’s marquee event, the Holly Ball, which draws over 1,200 guests and typically raises nearly one million dollars annually. The Events Manager works closely with volunteer chairs and multiple committees to deliver a high-caliber event. Additionally, stewardship events such as the LaGratitude celebrations in the Central and Southwest Regions require attention to detail ranging from entertainment to recognition awards, which also engage the Board of Directors to actively support event messaging.

The role extends to overseeing the Southwest Regional Fall Gala, a crucial fundraising event with over 650 guests and a goal of nearly $300,000 annually. Management of the Charitable Partners Program, which includes third-party fundraising events producing nearly $400,000 annually, is also a key responsibility. The Events Manager markets this program, manages relationships with external fundraisers, develops fundraising guidelines, and focuses on program growth in the Southwest Region.

Beyond event execution, the manager provides guidance to Regional Development Officers for localized benefactor recognition and fundraising activities, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment with overall Foundation objectives. A cornerstone of success in this position is leveraging data—maintaining databases, tracking registration and revenues, conducting participant satisfaction surveys, and reconciling financials with the accounting department.

Volunteers are vital to event success, and the Events Manager recruits, trains, and nurtures a dedicated volunteer workforce while ensuring they feel empowered and appreciated. Strong project management and leadership skills are essential to coordinate multiple events and meet fundraising targets. This role requires excellent communication, creative problem-solving, and a passion for philanthropy and community engagement to amplify the Foundation’s visibility and impact.

CentraCare Foundation values diversity and inclusion and encourages all individuals, including those with disabilities, to apply. The organization is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer committed to fostering a workforce representative of the communities it serves. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team making a meaningful difference in healthcare through innovative event leadership and community partnership.
