Job Description

Overtime Elite (OTE) is a pioneering global sports league specifically designed to support, educate, and empower the most talented basketball players on their journey from proficiency to professional status. Recognizing a void in the traditional sports ecosystem where elite young athletes lacked a dedicated platform, OTE has innovated to provide these players with a league that services their unique needs. Focused on creating an empowering environment, OTE stands out by embracing a novel approach that breaks free from conventional sporting norms. The league has gained international recognition for discovering the next generation of basketball superstars, filling gaps left by other organizations and amplifying the visibility and storylines of previously unheralded talents. By building a community that nurtures athletes and challenges the existing basketball ecosystem, OTE delivers transformative opportunities to elite players who have historically been underserved in the broader sports landscape.

The role of Manager, Events at Overtime is a crucial position within the Overtime Events Team, reporting directly to the Director of Events. This role is integral to the successful planning and execution of live events across Overtime's league properties, including basketball and football events, the OTE Arena, and various partner activations. The Manager, Events ensures that every event upholds Overtime's brand identity through impeccable presentation, creative execution, and high-impact fan engagement experiences. This includes taking ownership of the full event lifecycle from initial concept through to on-site management and post-event follow-up.

The Manager will lead the planning and onsite execution of a diverse range of events such as league games, tournaments, special events, and partner activations. The job involves meticulous coordination of event logistics such as vendor management, site scouting, load-in and load-out operations, and documentation upkeep including run-of-shows and facility setup manuals. They will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including partnerships and operations to ensure seamless event delivery. Another critical facet of the role involves managing ticket distribution, guest lists, VIP hospitality, courtside seating, and premium guest experiences to enhance fan engagement and stakeholder satisfaction.

In addition to the hands-on event management responsibilities, the Manager is expected to contribute to continuous improvement by developing scalable processes that enhance event production efficiency. This includes budgeting oversight, invoicing reconciliation, timeline management, and ensuring all events are managed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The role demands a highly organized, detail-oriented professional comfortable with working in a fast-paced, dynamic live event environment who effectively blends operational excellence with creativity. This position requires availability to work nights and weekends and the physical ability to handle event setups which may involve lifting weights up to 40 lbs.
