Job Description

The hiring company is a highly regarded golf club or resort that specializes in offering exceptional experiences through expert event management and hospitality services. This establishment is dedicated to providing an elegant, professional, and seamless environment for all their guests, members, and clients. Known for its meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence, the resort harmonizes upscale amenities with personalized service to create memorable occasions that resonate well beyond the event itself. The property hosts a wide array of events, ranging from weddings, social gatherings, and corporate functions to exclusive club and golf events. Through collaborative team efforts, including culinary, sales, and operations departments, the resort strives to maintain high standards aligned with its mission and values, ensuring a premier experience for every visitor and member.

The Event Manager role at this golf club or resort is pivotal to orchestrating these upscale events. Serving as the key liaison between clients, members, and internal departments, the Event Manager ensures that every aspect of an event—from initial inquiry and booking through execution and post-event analysis—is flawlessly coordinated and executed. This full-time position offers an attractive salary range of $58,000 to $65,000 per year, reflecting the importance and expertise required in managing both intimate and large-scale events at a prestigious venue.

This role involves comprehensive event coordination and planning, requiring strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. The Event Manager will partner closely with the sales team to fulfill contracts for weddings, corporate events, social functions, and sporting event gatherings such as golf tournaments. Responsibilities include scheduling, negotiating event details, managing food and beverage arrangements, space setup, and ensuring all client requests are met with precision.

In addition to planning, the Event Manager is responsible for overseeing logistical operations and maintaining an up-to-date master calendar of events to coordinate across departments seamlessly. Effective communication with culinary teams, banquet managers, and external vendors is critical, as is upholding the high standards of service and appearance that the property is known for. Attention to detail is emphasized through producing and supervising Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), conducting property tours and tastings, and leading weekly coordination meetings to assure flawless execution.

Budgeting and administrative tasks are integral to the role, including crafting detailed event budgets, managing contracts and purchase orders, and tracking revenue and expenses accurately. The Event Manager's ability to negotiate equipment rentals and manage group charges demonstrates a blend of financial acumen and operational oversight.

On-site execution further highlights this role’s importance, where the Event Manager ensures that all logistics—from AV equipment setups to banquet service—run smoothly throughout the event. This includes proactively resolving any unforeseen issues while maintaining professionalism and company standards for communication and appearance.

Additional duties such as enforcing safe work practices and completing tasks as directed by the Director of Sales and Marketing emphasize a well-rounded position suitable for someone adaptable and dedicated. The successful candidate will be someone with experience in similar hospitality or event environments, possessing proficiency in Google platforms and event management software, exceptional communication skills, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude. This role offers an opportunity for growth and development within a reputable and dynamic hospitality setting.
