Job Description
Our client, a dynamic organization located in New York, New York, is seeking a skilled and motivated Events Manager to join their expanding team on a permanent basis. The organization operates within the vibrant events and hospitality industry, catering to high-end clientele and executing sophisticated events that demand attention to detail and seamless management. With a steadfast commitment to excellence, the company has grown to become a leader in innovative event planning, offering distinctive venues and unparalleled service experiences throughout New York and beyond.
The Events Manager role is a critical position within the company, tasked with overseeing the entire event planning lifecycle from conception to execution. This position requires a proactive professional with 4-6 years of direct experience in high-end event production, who is capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while ensuring the highest quality outcomes. Employed on a permanent basis, this role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
As an Events Manager, you will collaborate closely with clients to understand and realize their vision, negotiate with vendors and venues to secure optimal contracts and ensure budget adherence, and lead internal teams through the logistical planning and onsite execution of events. Your work will involve sourcing unique venues such as hotels, galleries, and rooftop spaces, as well as specialized vendors for catering, audiovisual needs, and décor, all tailored to create memorable experiences. You will be responsible for meticulous contract negotiations, managing deposits, budgets, and final financial reconciliations, which requires strong business acumen and the ability to negotiate favorable terms.
In addition to the strategic aspects of the role, you will independently manage the detailed logistics of each event, including banquet event orders (BEOs), menu selections, room layouts, and shipping coordination. Your leadership during onsite activities is equally essential, ensuring smooth setup, efficient registration processes, well-managed staffing, and quick resolution of any challenges that arise during events. As a representative of the organization, you will maintain regular communication with clients, providing strategic recommendations and updates to guarantee the successful execution of each event.
The ideal candidate is a proactive "work athlete" with a strong "get things done" mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace is required to manage documentation and communication effectively. The ability to travel as needed to event sites is also necessary to ensure hands-on leadership and oversight. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive, diverse, and inclusive team dedicated to delivering extraordinary events and fostering career growth opportunities in the hospitality and events management industry.
This position not only offers a stimulating and rewarding professional environment but also comes with a comprehensive benefits package through Cella by Randstad Digital, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), life insurance, short-term disability, and a 401K plan (all benefits subject to eligibility). The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Reasonable accommodations are provided to applicants to ensure a positive hiring experience for all individuals.
