Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • At least 1 year experience in event management or related area
  • Ability to manage group room blocks and meeting spaces
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Capability to handle billing and contract review
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to lead meetings and coordinate with diverse teams
  • Experience with problem-solving and operational challenge resolution
  • Familiarity with industry trends in event management and design
  • Willingness to participate in sales support and up-selling activities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of experience in event management or related field
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with at least 1 year experience in event management

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases
  • Manage event logistics and operations by following established procedures and collaborating with employees
  • Greet customers during the event phase and transition to the Event Operations team for execution
  • Ensure adherence to standards, policies, and procedures
  • Manage billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients prior to final billing
  • Oversee group room blocks and meeting spaces for average to large-sized groups
  • Resolve operational challenges by working with property staff and customers to develop alternative solutions
  • Integrate current trends in event management and design
  • Act as liaison between field sales personnel and customers through all event phases
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
  • Solicit feedback to improve Event Planner experience
  • Deliver excellent customer service and empower employees to do the same
  • Coordinate and communicate event details verbally and in writing
  • Oversee customer experience from file turnover through post-event phase
  • Follow up with customers post-event and handle guest problems and complaints
  • Lead formal pre- and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • Facilitate necessary meetings like Banquet Event Order and block reviews
  • Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
  • Up-sell products and services throughout event process
  • Review employee service behaviors and provide feedback
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans
  • Take initiative to improve service performance based on evaluation
  • Perform additional duties to meet business needs
