Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate special events and projects as assigned
  • Direct staff participating in events
  • Serve as liaison to event vendors including registration logistics and fee collection
  • Plan and implement tourism activities
  • Assist with training, scheduling, and supervising volunteers for special events
  • Prepare briefs, summaries, fact sheets and other required data for event planning
  • Receive and respond to questions and inquiries, identify and resolve issues timely
  • Interpret and communicate event regulations, guidelines, and policies
  • Strategically plan and schedule events more than 12 months in advance
  • Create and manage event budgets
  • Develop and recruit sponsors, create sponsorship packets, and follow up with sponsors
  • Collaborate with marketing to create promotional materials and packages
  • Ensure compliance with permits and regulations through coordination with city departments
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including department personnel, local businesses, sponsors, media, and community groups
  • Coordinate logistical support including security, clean-up, barricades, first-aid, and permits
  • Provide customer service with professionalism and a cheerful demeanor
  • Act as film liaison by reviewing applications, issuing permits, and addressing community and staff feedback
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, city officials, the public, media, and other stakeholders
