Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, specializing in venue development and offering comprehensive venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales capabilities. Since its founding in 2015, OVG has established an impressive portfolio that includes ownership of seven world-class venues and partnerships with iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. The company is renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional live experiences, leveraging innovative solutions, and fostering strong community connections in every location it operates. Operating at the forefront of the live entertainment industry, OVG provides a dynamic work environment that supports professional growth and encourages employees to engage with diverse cultural and professional perspectives.

The Events Intern position is based at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center and offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the event planning and management field within the live entertainment industry. This internship is designed to immerse students in the full lifecycle of event coordination, from initial planning stages to execution and post-event wrap-up, allowing them to observe and participate in the intricate processes that bring events to life. The role involves assisting the Events Department in coordinating a variety of events, including meetings, banquets, trade shows, sports events such as FSU basketball games, concerts, and graduations. Beyond coordination, the intern will also support part-time staff management duties such as hiring, scheduling, deployment, and supervising during events.

This is a part-time internship requiring approximately 24 hours per week, with flexible days and times that correspond to the event schedule. The role necessitates availability during evenings and weekends to accommodate event timing. This internship spans from September 8, 2026, through December 11, 2026, with an hourly pay rate of $15.75. Interns benefit from a comprehensive learning experience that covers creating detailed event schedules, understanding event setup, guest experience enhancement, troubleshooting during live events, and cultivating professional interactions with clients, vendors, and multi-department teams. The position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. OVG fosters a positive, professional, and customer-focused work culture where interns can build valuable skills and professional networks in sports management, business, hospitality, and related fields.
