The intern will be involved in diverse responsibilities such as assisting with the hiring, scheduling, deployment, and supervision of part-time event staff, ensuring that events run smoothly and efficiently. Flexibility is essential, as the role demands availability during various days, evenings, and weekends when events take place. The internship pays an hourly wage of $15.75 and is scheduled to commence on September 8, 2026, concluding on December 11, 2026. This opportunity remains open for applications until June 12, 2026.

The Events Intern will contribute to the successful management of a wide variety of event types including meetings, banquets, trade shows, Florida State University basketball games, concerts, and graduation ceremonies. Key tasks include maintaining inventory of department supplies such as staff shirts, radios, and wristbands, as well as attending departmental and building meetings as needed. The position also requires the completion of special projects assigned by management, which offers a chance to develop versatile skills and gain valuable insights into organizational operations.

Interns will acquire critical skills and knowledge through this experience, including understanding the comprehensive event planning process, creating detailed event schedules, and developing proficiency in event setup, guest experience management, and live event troubleshooting. The role emphasizes the importance of problem-solving, communication, and collaboration with clients, vendors, and colleagues, helping interns to build professional relationships and teamwork capabilities.
