Currently, Typhoon Texas Waterpark is seeking an energetic and passionate Events Intern to join their team for the summer season. This internship offers a hands-on, immersive experience for students and young professionals interested in event planning, marketing, hospitality, or entertainment industries. The Events Intern will play a pivotal role in bringing some of the park’s biggest events to life, working closely with various departments such as marketing, food and beverage, and park leadership. This role involves planning and coordinating themed park events, managing vendor relationships including performers and partners, and assisting with the operational execution of large-scale events that cater to thousands of guests.

The intern will gain valuable experience creating detailed Run of Show documents to outline activity schedules and operational details, as well as supporting the creative aspects of event setup, such as park decoration and coordinated thematic presentations. Furthermore, the intern will engage directly with guests, facilitating games, contests, and entertainment elements to enhance the guest experience. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop key skills in project management, vendor coordination, communications, and live event execution within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This seasonal internship includes flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments, with work shifts spanning evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during event days. Job Requirements

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, early mornings, nights, and holidays
May be required to work in various weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing over 30 pounds as part of daily responsibilities
May occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, or balance
Must be able to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
Must be an effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to deliver feedback, share analysis, communicate updates, and lead teams with a positive influence
Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and professionalism with attention to detail in a high-volume, guest focused environment, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision
Strong analytical skills with expertise in product optimization and strategic purchasing

Job Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or related field preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Creative mindset and attention to detail
Outgoing personality with a passion for guest experiences
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Comfortable working outdoors during event days

Job Duties

Assist with planning and executing themed park events throughout the season
Communicate with event vendors, performers, and partners before and during event days
Collect and organize vendor documentation including Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
Create detailed Run of Show (ROS) documents outlining schedules, activities, and operational details for each event
Provide finalized Run of Show documents to the Marketing team for promotion and internal distribution
Help decorate the park for major events and seasonal celebrations
Assist with event setup including signage, vendor areas, activity stations, and themed spaces
Coordinate with the Food & Beverage team to help develop themed food and beverage offerings for events
Interact with guests to promote event activities and create an exciting atmosphere
Help facilitate games, activities, contests, and entertainment elements
Support vendors and entertainers to ensure a smooth guest experience
Share upcoming event details with park leadership and team members
Create event signage and coordinate production to ensure signage is posted throughout the park
Work with the Marketing team to ensure event information is accurate and well-promoted
