Established as the leader in the equipment rental sector, the company emphasizes reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction in all its operations. United Rentals boasts a vast network of locations throughout the United States, enabling seamless service and delivery to their extensive customer base. Known for fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, United Rentals invests heavily in employee growth, training, and development, promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellence. The company has been recognized as a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2026, underscoring its dedication to providing an outstanding workplace experience. With a range of roles across multiple disciplines, United Rentals offers diverse career paths to meet the evolving needs of the industry and the ambitions of its workforce.
The Reliable Onsite Services (ROS) Events Driver role at United Rentals is a dynamic and vital position responsible for supporting events across the United States by ensuring the timely and efficient servicing, cleaning, and maintenance of portable restrooms and related equipment. This full-time position involves traveling extensively—up to 80% of the time—to various event locations, delivering exceptional customer service and upholding the company’s high standards for equipment readiness and cleanliness. The Events Driver operates primarily with minimal supervision, requiring a strong sense of independence, responsibility, and attention to safety protocols. Weekend work is a standard expectation, reflecting the nature of events and the need for continuous service coverage.
Key responsibilities in this role include servicing and replenishing portable toilets, holding tanks, hand wash stations, and restroom-shower trailers to ensure they are clean, safe, and fully stocked. Drivers are expected to maintain open communication with their dispatcher, customers, and event personnel to coordinate and optimize event service routes effectively. The position requires operating a Route Service truck safely and performing vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure compliance with safety standards. Additionally, the Events Driver will complete equipment loading, unloading, refueling, and minor repairs on-site when necessary. They may also be responsible for moving equipment to different event locations as requested.
Candidates for this position should be prepared for physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving equipment items that can weigh up to 45 pounds or more with assistance. The role requires excellent verbal communication skills and a high commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. While a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required, at least one year of truck driving experience is preferred, and obtaining a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card is mandatory before employment begins. United Rentals provides thorough training on products, services, and driver qualifications to support new hires in succeeding in their roles.
United Rentals is dedicated to supporting its employees with competitive benefits that promote well-being and work-life balance. From paid parental leave and sick leave to employee discount programs and career development opportunities, the company strives to create a supportive and rewarding workplace. Additionally, the company fosters an inclusive and welcoming culture, actively embracing diversity and offering reasonable accommodations to applicants as needed. Veterans and active-duty military personnel are particularly welcomed, with United Rentals recognizing the valuable skills and values they bring to the team.
This ROS Events Driver role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a challenging yet rewarding position in a respected, global company focused on growth, safety, and customer satisfaction. Those who enjoy traveling, interacting frequently with customers, and taking pride in maintaining high standards of equipment and service will find this role fulfilling and stimulating.
