In the role of Event Coordinator within the Michaels store located in Canton, OH, you will be an essential team member responsible for organizing and facilitating a wide range of creative events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes. This part-time position offers an engaging work environment where your energetic and enthusiastic personality can truly shine. You will be tasked with planning and coordinating multiple events simultaneously to provide a memorable, stress-free experience for guests of all ages. Your role will involve delivering exceptional customer service by helping shoppers navigate the store efficiently, assisting them in finding the right products, and ensuring a speedy, friendly checkout process. Tasked with a mix of customer-facing responsibilities and operational duties, this position demands strong multitasking abilities and a passion for creativity.

Your event duties will include engaging with clients from young children to seniors, instructing participants in craft projects, and conducting activities such as face painting. You will be expected to handle administrative responsibilities like responding to emails, making phone calls, and managing paperwork to ensure smooth communication and successful event execution. Additionally, you will create contingency plans to manage unexpected situations and work collaboratively with store team members to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Operational tasks such as truck unloading, merchandise stocking, maintaining store recovery standards, and participating in safety and shrink prevention programs are fundamental parts of your daily workflow.

Being a face of Michaels, you will champion the store's Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards by educating customers and completing enrollments. Your commitment to customer experience will also involve assisting with Omni channel processes like Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store. A significant component of the role includes ensuring that every customer interaction embodies respect, positivity, and professionalism, embodying the company’s vision and values.

The position requires physical stamina, as you will be standing for long periods, navigating throughout the store, and performing physical activities including bending, lifting, and reaching. You will also be trained in custom framing selling and production, adding a valuable skill set to your role. Compensation for this part-time role ranges between $11.00 and $13.00 per hour. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in retail or customer service
  • ability to stand for long periods
