Job Description
South Seas Island Resort is a premier destination located on the tip of Captiva Island along Florida's picturesque Gulf Coast. Known for its breathtaking natural surroundings and commitment to exceptional service, South Seas offers guests unforgettable experiences through weddings, corporate retreats, social celebrations, and various coastal gatherings. The resort spans 330 acres and includes a wildlife nature preserve, blending elevated coastal experiences with world-class amenities. As a key property within the Timbers Company portfolio, South Seas embraces the core values of authenticity, humility, teamwork, time management, and trustworthiness, creating an inviting atmosphere for families and visitors to return year after year.
The Events Coordinator role at South Seas Island Resort plays an essential part in the smooth execution of events and guest services. This position supports the Events, Sales, and Marketing teams by coordinating and documenting all aspects of event planning to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency across departments. The successful candidate will help coordinate a variety of events including weddings, corporate meetings, group events, and social functions. Their responsibilities include preparing banquet event orders (BEOs), room diagrams, timelines, and other internal documentation, along with liaising among departments and external partners. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced resort environment.
The Events Coordinator is also instrumental in marketing collaborations, assisting with event promotions, social media content, and maintaining updated event collateral consistent with the resort's brand standards. Additionally, administrative duties such as maintaining accurate event files, managing CRM records, responding promptly to event inquiries, and supporting event forecasting and revenue tracking are fundamental to this position.
With a pay range of $22.00 to $23.00 per hour and a non-exempt employment status, this role offers hospitality professionals a chance to grow their careers within a vibrant, scenic resort environment, working closely with a passionate, dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant hospitality experience, preferably within a resort or hotel setting, and demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required is also essential. This is a unique opportunity for those who are enthusiastic about creating memorable guest experiences and contributing to the continued success of a distinguished island resort.
