Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • ability to lift and move boxes up to 40 pounds
  • ability to sit at a computer for prolonged periods
  • ability to work in a typical office environment
  • ability to tolerate stress and perform under critical deadlines
  • manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files
  • must be able to travel locally between worksite locations and within the community
  • must meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • preferred: 2 years’ experience working in events or hospitality
  • preferred: bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or related field
  • preferred: previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members and supervisors verbally and in writing
  • possess organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • high level of integrity and professionalism
  • creative, flexible and resourceful
  • ability to set priorities and follow through to complete tasks

Job Duties

  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, isolation, and abandonment immediately as mandated by state law
  • provide administrative support for the event team
  • log all expectations with help of event managers and track and follow
  • assist with daily operational and administrative functions while event is in progress
  • assist with execution of all events and Magical Forest parties
  • support event managers with outreach and coordination of silent auction for events
  • generate thank you letters and acknowledgement correspondence for event staff
  • call donors to thank them for their donation and make them aware that their check has been received
  • compile event summaries as directed
  • supervisor check-in at events and troubleshoot if necessary
  • responsible to make sure that there is a finance person present at all events
  • prepare office in a box for events including securing all credit card machines
  • track all in-kind donations including track all items booked and follow up on items not booked with all event managers
  • ability to work after hours and events as needed
  • assist event lead with planning and execution of various internal and external events
  • serve as a moderator during holiday season at HallOVeen and Magical Forest
  • establish and maintain relationships with third party vendors
  • may be assigned other duties as needed
  • some travel to a variety of locations in the Las Vegas area and between Opportunity Village campuses
  • must be able to meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel between worksite locations and within the community
