The chosen candidate will serve as the right hand to the Events Supervisor and may be expected to fill in as needed, demonstrating versatility and leadership potential. Given the dynamic nature of community events, the position requires flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of the event calendar. This position also emphasizes public safety by necessitating basic First Aid and CPR skills, reflecting the city's commitment to attendee well-being and regulatory compliance.The ideal candidate will have a background in recreation, leisure, event management, or a related field, with at least two years of professional experience in event coordination or community programming. The city prefers candidates with higher education credentials like an associate degree, though experience combined with relevant training can also fulfill the qualification needs. New hires must complete Crowd Manager Training, along with First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within six months of employment, ensuring preparedness and safety at all times. Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and RecTrac is necessary to optimize program management and reporting. Job Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an accredited high school or possess a State of Florida G.E.D. certificate or equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida driver’s license

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of community and special events
  • Promote city events and assist with local business sponsorships and donations
  • Coordinate operations related to city and co-sponsored events and senior activities
  • Draft vendor agreements and recruit event vendors
  • Process requisitions, invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments
  • Manage inventory of event equipment and supplies
  • Serve as backup to the Events Supervisor and perform other duties as assigned
