The position available is for a part-time Events and Production Coordinator within the School of the Arts division. This role supports the management and execution of events at the Noorda Venue, a multi-purpose facility that hosts a wide range of artistic and educational performances and events. The Events and Production Coordinator reports directly to the Venue Manager and works closely with various university departments, visiting event companies, and external organizations to plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of events and productions. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that events run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $18.78 to $22.09 and requires the ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, to provide support during rehearsals, performances, load-ins, and strikes. The coordinator is responsible for managing venue production schedules, overseeing crew assignments, preparing production documentation, and serving as a primary point of contact during events. Additionally, the coordinator is tasked with enforcing safety protocols, training student staff, and collaborating with various campus services to ensure a cohesive audience experience.

Candidates for this position should have a bachelor's degree in technical theater or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years in theatrical venue supervision. The role demands comprehensive knowledge of performing arts production, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a deep understanding of technical theater equipment and safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to manage complex event logistics, anticipate and resolve challenges proactively, and foster a cooperative team environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical theater or equivalent combination of education and experience equaling 4 years in theatrical venue supervision

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Attend production meetings, work calls, rehearsals, and shows to coordinate and supervise event needs
  • Coordinate with visiting event production and management to align with university best practices
  • Manage venue production schedules ensuring staffing and time allocation for load-in, rehearsals, performances, and strike
  • Work with the Production Supervisor to maintain venue scheduling and ensure readiness of performance spaces
  • Prepare and distribute event and production documentation including stage plots and checklists
  • Supervise events as the university representative, liaising with vendors and campus service providers
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and train staff in the safe operation of equipment
