Job Description

Apartment Life is dedicated to enhancing the living experience in apartment communities by fostering a warm, caring, and engaging environment for all residents and staff. This organization emphasizes the blend of community building and business operations with a mission-driven approach. Apartment Life operates with the vision to cultivate connections among residents, create a sense of belonging, and offer exceptional hospitality that reflects genuine care and compassion. As a non-profit initiative, Apartment Life seeks to build more than just places to live—they strive to build vibrant communities where residents feel valued, supported, and connected to their neighbors and the broader community. By focusing on relational engagement and mission alignment, Apartment Life brings a unique perspective to community management that integrates business reliability with acts of kindness and outreach.

The role of Events and Ministry Coordinator with Apartment Life is a vital, mission-focused position aimed at enriching the apartment community experience through carefully planned social events, personalized communication, and thoughtful care. Though this is an unpaid volunteer position, coordinators are entrusted with significant responsibilities that impact the community's cohesion and quality of life. As a coordinator, you will be responsible for crafting and executing two meaningful events each month that serve to connect residents to each other and to local resources, thereby fostering a welcoming atmosphere and enhancing community ties. This role requires someone who is not only passionate about the mission of Apartment Life but who is also highly relational, organized, and proactive.

Coordinators play an important role in weaving the principles of "business as ministry" into their daily activities. They engage with residents personally, often serving as the heart of community interaction, extending hospitality, support, and encouragement. The position demands creativity in event planning, efficient communication skills, and dedication to continuous improvement through collaboration with staff and volunteers. Additionally, coordinators contribute to the community's online reputation by encouraging positive shared experiences and are involved in marketing efforts through various channels such as flyers, social media, and monthly calendars.

Volunteer coordinators must be prepared to manage budgets, prepare reports, and mobilize volunteers and partners for maximum community impact. Regular face-to-face interaction with new and transitioning residents ensures personal connection and strengthens neighborhood bonds. Flexibility to work primarily during evenings and weekends is critical, as these are peak times when residents are available to participate in community activities. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals who want to serve their community actively, grow relationally, and practice hospitality in tangible ways—all while contributing to the flourishing of apartment residents and staff alike.
