Job Description
Apartment Life is an organization committed to transforming apartment communities into vibrant, connected spaces where residents feel cared for and valued. As a ministry-focused entity, Apartment Life combines the principles of business with a mission to express God's unconditional love through genuine care, hospitality, and community building. The organization emphasizes creating meaningful relationships and fostering an environment where residents not only coexist but thrive together. Apartment Life offers opportunities for individuals to engage deeply with their community, providing exceptional events and personal connections that enrich the residential experience widely.
The role of an Events and Ministry Coordinator at Apartment Life is a unique and fulfilling one. This position allows coordinators to immerse themselves in the life of an apartment community by creating, planning, and hosting engaging events that bring residents together and build lasting connections. This is a not paid position, ideal for individuals who are passionate about the vision and mission of the organization and enjoy meeting new people, planning social activities, and spreading kindness through tangible acts of care. Coordinators work closely with residents and staff, using their skills to consistently deliver excellent events and foster a warm, inviting atmosphere. In addition to event planning, coordinators play a key role in maintaining positive community relations by enhancing the apartment's online reputation and supporting residents through direct care and communication.
The coordinator’s responsibilities include managing the entire lifecycle of events, from conceptualization to execution, and ensuring that these gatherings serve the purpose of community bonding and support. They prepare marketing materials such as monthly calendars, event flyers, and social media posts to promote engagement and attendance. Moreover, coordinators oversee the event budget process, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively while maintaining financial responsibility. Regular coordination with staff and program directors for planning and development is essential, as is building and maintaining a network of volunteers, vendors, and community partners to maximize the outreach and impact of events.
In this role, coordinators also prioritize residents’ personal experiences by visiting new residents shortly after they move in and checking in with those nearing the end of their lease, offering a heartfelt connection during key moments. Physical demands of the role include the ability to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds, reflecting the hands-on nature of the work. Flexibility in scheduling, particularly availability during evenings and weekends, is crucial as most residents are present during these times. This position is an excellent fit for mission-oriented, relational individuals who want to blend ministry with community service, creating positive change and a supportive environment in the apartment communities they serve.
