Job Description
Apartment Life (AL) is a faith-based community ministry that aims to transform apartment communities into vibrant, welcoming neighborhoods where residents feel genuinely cared for and connected. As an organization, AL focuses on combining excellence in property management with acts of kindness and radical hospitality, all while demonstrating God’s unconditional love. The company operates by nurturing relationships, organizing impactful community events, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere that encourages residents to thrive socially and spiritually within their living space. AL is dedicated to creating a positive living environment that benefits residents, staff, and the broader community by aligning business operations with a ministry-oriented mission. This unique approach makes AL a leader in combining service excellence with community care within the multifamily housing industry.
The role of an Events and Ministry Coordinator at Apartment Life is a non-paid, mission-driven position that plays a crucial role in enhancing the Apartment Life experience for residents in various apartment communities. This role involves planning and hosting social and caring events twice a month designed to foster strong connections among residents and between residents and local services or businesses. The coordinator serves as a vital bridge that helps residents feel welcomed, valued, and supported through personal visits, creative event planning, and active communication. They are passionate individuals who embrace the ministry aspect of the work by integrating faith, hospitality, and community development into their daily responsibilities.
Events and Ministry Coordinators must demonstrate a high level of relational skills, responsibility, and mission alignment because they directly impact the community’s wellbeing and the residents’ lives. Coordinators are tasked with not only the practicalities of event logistics but also the nurturing of a welcoming environment that reflects the core values of Apartment Life. This position requires a dedication to consistent, excellent event planning, managing resources such as budgets, and developing marketing materials to communicate effectively about upcoming activities. Moreover, coordinators work closely with property management staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partners to maximize the reach and success of their programs.
This role typically demands a weekly commitment, particularly during evenings and weekends, which is when most community events and resident interactions occur. While the position is not salaried, it offers a fulfilling opportunity to serve as a ministry professional in a residential setting that seeks to bring spiritual and social enrichment to people’s everyday lives. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building relationships, organizing community-focused activities, and serving others with a heart for ministry and hospitality.
Whether working onsite or offsite, coordinators are empowered to create meaningful impacts by actively engaging with residents, hosting events, and supporting the overall mission of Apartment Life. The onsite coordinators generally commit 12-16 hours a week and benefit from living on-site with reduced housing costs, whereas offsite coordinators contribute roughly 8-16 hours per month and receive hourly compensation. Currently, the position requires about 12 hours per week at the specific apartment community in question. It offers a unique blend of community service, event coordination, and faith-based outreach, making it an exceptional role within community ministry and multifamily housing sectors.
