Job Description

Apartment Life is a unique community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the living experience in apartment communities by fostering connection, care, and hospitality among residents and staff. Founded on the mission of blending excellent business practices with genuine acts of kindness, Apartment Life offers residents more than just a place to live – it creates a supportive environment where people can thrive socially and spiritually. By integrating event planning, personal interactions, and community engagement, Apartment Life aims to build lasting relationships that contribute positively to the well-being of residents and the wider neighborhood.

Within this compassionate framework, Apartment Life is currently seeking motivated and mission-minded individuals to join their team as Events and Ministry Coordinators. This role is not paid, yet it provides an extraordinary opportunity for individuals passionate about community building, event planning, and ministry work. Coordinators dedicate approximately 12 hours per week to their duties, primarily focusing on evenings and weekends when residents are most available. The role is ideal for those who enjoy creating memorable social experiences and fostering meaningful connections among people while promoting a sense of belonging and care.

Events and Ministry Coordinators at Apartment Life are responsible for organizing and executing engaging events twice a month, designed to nurture relationships within the apartment community. These events aim to connect residents to one another and to local services or businesses, creating a supportive network. Coordinators work closely with residents and community partners, embracing a model of radical hospitality and genuine care. Their work impacts the social fabric of the community by facilitating interactions that encourage growth, support, and fellowship.

In addition to event planning, coordinators play a critical role in marketing and communication. They develop promotional materials such as monthly event calendars, flyers, and social media posts to boost community engagement and enhance the online reputation of Apartment Life. Maintaining an event budget and preparing monthly activity summaries are also part of their responsibilities, ensuring that operations run smoothly and transparently. Coordinators collaborate regularly with property management staff and program directors for planning, equipping, and development purposes.

The position also includes personalized outreach efforts, where coordinators visit new residents shortly after move-in and check in with those approaching the end of their lease. This personalized care helps maintain strong relationships and continuity within the apartment community. Coordinators engage volunteers, vendors, and other community partners to maximize the impact and reach of their events and services, building a robust network of support that enriches the community experience.

While the position is unpaid, it offers enriching personal and professional development opportunities. Those interested in serving in a meaningful ministry capacity while utilizing skills in event management, communication, and community relations will find this role fulfilling. The commitment required is 12 hours weekly, emphasizing evening and weekend availability to align with resident presence. A vehicle for transportation and the physical capability to perform job duties—including stairs, bending, standing, and carrying up to 25 pounds—is necessary. Overall, Apartment Life seeks highly relational, responsible individuals who are passionate about sharing God's unconditional love and fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere within apartment communities.
