Job Description
Apartment Life is a mission-driven apartment community organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant, caring, and connected living environment for residents and staff. By combining the principles of faith, hospitality, and excellent business practices, Apartment Life enhances the residential experience through thoughtfully planned social events and meaningful community engagement. The organization believes in weaving business excellence with genuine acts of care, resulting in a positive and supportive neighborhood atmosphere. Apartment Life is supported by a network of community partners, volunteers, and vendors, all working together to offer residents a unique and enriching apartment life experience that extends beyond mere housing.
The role of the Events and Ministry Coordinator at Apartment Life is an unpaid position that plays a pivotal part in sustaining this vibrant community spirit. Coordinators are entrusted with creating and delivering exceptional apartment community events and experiences that nurture relationships among residents and staff. They are proactive in cultivating genuine connections, both facilitating social interaction and fostering an atmosphere of radical hospitality grounded in God’s unconditional love. Through their passion for the Apartment Life mission, Coordinators plan and lead one event each month designed to care for residents, connect neighbors, and link community members with local services and businesses. This position requires someone who is relational, mission-minded, and responsible, with the ability to manage event logistics, promote events through carefully crafted marketing materials, and maintain a budget.
Coordinators also play an essential role in supporting the community by building and sustaining networks of volunteers, vendors, and local partners to expand the impact of each event. Beyond event management, they take the initiative to personally engage with new residents soon after move-in and those nearing lease completion to ensure a continuous connection and care. Another key responsibility is enhancing the community’s online presence by encouraging residents to share positive experiences. Staff collaboration and ongoing development are integral to the position, with regular meetings with program directors to plan, equip, and improve efforts.
Physical stamina and availability are vital for success in this position, as Coordinators need to be capable of performing tasks that require bending, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and using stairs. Evening and weekend availability is critical since most residents are home during these times. The role offers two options: an onsite coordinator who serves the community for roughly 8 hours weekly and lives onsite with reduced rent, or an offsite coordinator who works between 8 and 16 hours monthly and receives hourly compensation. This flexibility allows applicants to choose the arrangement best suited to their lifestyle and commitment level.
Overall, this is a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful community service within a faith-based, mission-oriented framework, contributing to a thriving apartment culture that values connection, care, and integrity. Coordinators impact lives by fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment where every resident feels valued and connected.
