Job Description

Apartment Life is a dynamic organization dedicated to fostering vibrant, supportive, and engaging living environments within apartment communities. Their mission is not only to provide housing but also to build a sense of belonging, connection, and care among residents through exceptional community programming and personal interaction. They operate primarily in the apartment rental sector, offering residents more than just a place to live — they offer a thriving community and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels valued and connected. Apartment Life is passionate about combining business excellence with a ministry of kindness, aiming to create an outstanding living experience that nurtures genuine relationships and community spirit.

The Events and Ministry Coordinator role is pivotal in delivering the Apartment Life mission. This unpaid position is ideal for individuals who are mission-driven, relational, and enthusiastic about community building. Coordinators are entrusted with the responsibility of planning and executing engaging events that foster connections among residents and staff while also connecting residents to local services and businesses. They play a hands-on role in cultivating a welcoming culture by offering personalized care, radical hospitality, and genuine support, which ultimately impacts the residents' quality of life and sense of community.

Coordinators who join Apartment Life have the opportunity to blend their passion for event planning and ministry with practical skills, making a meaningful difference in the apartment communities they serve. They work closely with residents to create memorable experiences and ensure that the community atmosphere is inviting and inclusive. The position requires creativity, excellent communication skills, and a heart for serving others through acts of kindness and hospitality. Although this is not a paid position, it offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply with diverse communities and contribute to a greater mission.

In this role, coordinators plan and host two events monthly designed to care for and connect residents. They also extend hospitality by visiting new residents and those nearing the end of their lease, ensuring consistent personal interaction. Coordination extends beyond events to include marketing responsibilities such as developing monthly calendars, flyers, and social media posts, enhancing the community's online presence. Managing event budgets, preparing monthly activity summaries, and collaborating with staff and the program director are also essential tasks. The coordinator engages volunteers, vendors, and community partners for maximum program impact.

Applicants should be prepared to commit approximately 12 hours per week, mainly during evenings and weekends, aligning with peak resident availability. The role requires fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate and create marketing content, as well as reliable transportation. Physical demands include the ability to move around the community actively and carry supplies. The position suits individuals who want to make a difference in apartment living through service, hospitality, and community development, embracing the philosophy of "business as ministry" at its core.
