Job Description
Apartment Life is a dedicated organization focused on enhancing the quality of life for residents within rental communities by providing impactful resident services and programming. Specializing in community engagement, Apartment Life partners with corporate, governmental, and nonprofit entities to deliver tailored support and enrichment opportunities. These programs are designed to foster social connection, wellness, health, education, and stability among residents, creating vibrant, supportive living environments. The organization emphasizes personalized resident support through workshops, events, resource sharing, and direct assistance, playing a pivotal role in strengthening community bonds and enhancing resident satisfaction. Apartment Life takes pride in working closely with onsite management and community partners to ensure that its programs are effectively meeting the diverse needs of residents in multiple locations.
The role in focus is the part-time position of Events and Ministry Coordinator, also known internally as Coordinator of Resident Services, located in Tallahassee, FL. This coordinator is responsible for executing the service plan of Apartment Life within a specific community, dedicating 12 hours per week mainly during regular business hours with occasional evenings and weekends. The primary responsibility is to plan, schedule, and manage various resident-centered events and programs, such as workshops for adults and families, social engagement activities, and resourcing initiatives addressing key resident needs like rent and food assistance. The coordinator serves both as an event planner and a resource liaison, regularly updating residents on available support and connecting those with specific needs to appropriate local agencies or resources. In partnership with local businesses and community stakeholders, the coordinator develops enriching and holistic activities that encourage resident involvement and social cohesion.
In addition to event planning, this role involves maintaining effective communication with onsite staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operation and alignment with Apartment Life’s objectives. Weekly meetings with supervisors allow for review of program goals and progress, while monthly reporting measures the overall impact and activity outcomes. Residents benefit from personalized attention through meetings designed to assess and meet their unique requirements. The coordinator also plays an integral role in marketing community programs through clear, compelling communications drafted in English to foster resident participation.
This position requires a proactive, organized individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for community service. Candidates should be comfortable working in diverse environments and able to engage with residents from various backgrounds, including at-risk populations. Given the physical demands of this role, the coordinator must be able to manage tasks that involve mobility and minor physical exertion, such as carrying event materials and navigating stairs. Essential qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in event planning, social impact, or human services, alongside valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for coordinating event logistics and vendor interactions. Bilingual Spanish skills and experience working with vulnerable populations are considered assets that enhance the potential for success in this role.
By joining Apartment Life as the Coordinator of Resident Services, individuals play a crucial role in fostering community well-being and stability through thoughtful programming and resident support. This part-time, compensated opportunity offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of Tallahassee residents by promoting engagement, resource access, and community connection in affordable housing settings.
